The circuit breaker panel of the Sivacon switchboard assembly was expanded in order to increase the packing density. As the result it is now possible to install up to three air circuit breakers 3WL from Siemens in one panel and to combine them flexibly as required.
With type tested standard modules, Sivacon switchboard assemblies guarantee efficient power distribution in industrial applications and provide for a high level of operator and plant protection. The new universal installation panel permits the space-optimized integration of unit combinations for motor controls, safety relays and frequency converters in withdrawable design or fixed-mounting technology. The rack units contain the latest Sirius switching and protection devices, Sinamics frequency converters, and the Simocode pro motor management system from Siemens. The fail-safe expansion modules, which are part of Simocode pro, enable the safe shutdown of motors in process automation. Simocode can be connected through Profibus to higher-level automation systems and unites all essential protection, monitoring and control functions for each motor feeder in a single system. In addition the switchgear panel has its own ventilation system which can be connected to a heat exchanger or a building air conditioning system in order to make further use of the hot air produced in the system. The cold air, which enters the switchgear panel via ventilation slots, is directed by a new integrated ventilation duct along a defined route through the inside of the panel and the heated air is then discharged in upwards direction from the left side of the panel.

Motors, capacitors, generators and transformers can be safely switched and reliably protected against overloads and short circuits by means of the circuit breakers. Furthermore, the circuit breakers feature full communication capability via Profibus DP or Modbus RTU and enable, in combination with a control system, the
